Well first off nicks mirage is under way. He has the engine out and has begun the prep work for a f-ing sweet clean swap.

I managed to get some evo wheels a while ago and now they found their way on to a crx.

Had a big run in with the initial first set up with dsm struts. The ride height i wanted put the dsm strut COMPLEETLY bottomed out. That wouldnt work. Thankfully, about the same time i found this out, Robb, Harry and Mindy showed up. We all brainstormed for a while and came up with what i got now. Works out great so far. Cant claim the idea though.

You can see in one of the pictures that the honda strut is secured in the dsm case. I cut the dsm strut in half, gutted it, and slid the crx strut straight through.

I thought about this yesterday and forgot to call you.

With the mc'strut the upper strut mount is a bearing meant to turn with the hub on a dsm. On the Honda independent front, the strut never twists so the upper strut mount is fixed. What will happen is when you go to turn, the spring will pop and twist on the lower coil perch. You see what im saying? The spring/lowershock needs to be able to turn with the hub. Simplest way to fix this is to find a single row of ball bearings to put between the spring perch and spring. Or you could find a monoball top strut hat, or a mc'strut hat that has the bearing in it. Overall not a hard fix.

I'm not feeling the blue shocks. Everything else is up to the par I was expecting.

It seems like dsm parts were destined to be on hondas. Dsm strut hat bearing fits nice and snug in the crx strut hat.

The front susp as it sits now.

It saddens me to say i will be backing up on the suspension again. Need to consider all my options on that. What i have is functional but i have major camber and wheelbase issues. Details later.

In the meantime, i got lonely in the shop and came inside to begin a harness for the engine.

Those MR wheels are gonna look sweet on there. Nice match.

yeah, But i dont want to put them up yet. Still making stuff. Also going to redo the rear suspension to save weight and add rigidity. Even though it would be easier to leave it alone seeing how it is done.

I will post more when i have a example of what i am making.
